Pearl Collar Necklace

Generally, I’m not big on jewelry. I love looking at pretty jewelry, but I rarely wear it. This project is way too cute to resist though. Even for me :).

I mean, seriously. What a fun way to give a basic tee a kick in the fancypants.

• Felt

• Pearls + any other pretties you want to add

• Ribbon

• Gluegun

• CD

• Paper

First make the template. I used a cd for the neck hole – I wound a ribbon around the outside of it to measure it’s circumference, just to make sure it would fit my neck. Then I traced it, folded the paper in half and free-handed the outside. If you'd feel better about using a printable template, not to worry! First I glued the edge beads, and then the pearls to fill it in. But the sky’s the limit here – have fun figuring out how you’d like to decorate yours. Strolling through the craft store is always good for some inspiration.

I put down about an inch of glue at a time. I added them, making sure to vary the sizes as I went.

Look at that! In the home stretch now.

The varying sized pearls look like bubbles to me :).

Cut two lengths of ribbon, 14 inches each. Glue them to the points, and voilà! You’re done!

I’m so pleased with this! Can’t wait for my first fancy opportunity to wear it... or my next trip to the grocery store. Whichever comes first.
